A cultural sightseeing tour on the footsteps of Picasso in the French Riviera, the places he lived and the local exhibitions of his work, with a high level english speaking driver/guide.

In the Footsteps of Pablo Picasso
Drive to Vallauris, a town known for its traditional craft of pottery, where Picasso stayed from 1948 to 1955. Visit the National Museum of ceramic and the chapel "Peace and War" painted in 1952 by Picasso, evoking the horrors of war on one wall and the innocent joys of peace on the opposite wall. Visit the Madura Gallery where Picasso started working the clay and created some unique pieces of ceramic. Drive to Antibes and visit the Grimaldi Castle built in the 12C on the foundations of a Roman camp, today house of the Picasso Museum, where the artist created many works in 1946, you will admire La Joie de Vivre, a huge work in fibro-cement, and other paintings inspired by the marine and mythological life of the Mediterranean, Ulysses and the Syrenes, The Oak Tree...... The shocases hold an impressivecollection of Picasso's ceramics created in Vallauris. Drive to Mougins, where Picasso has lived the last fifteen years of his life, and visit the museum of Photography gathering a collection of photos of Picasso made by his friend André Villers and other contemporary photographers. (Museum and Parking fees are included in above rates)
